allergic to new carpet

I suspect my new carpet is making me sick. I started with a stuffy nose in the morning. This turned into a 'sinus infection' which eventually turned into pneumonia. Now I have a full body rash and continue to have sinus problems. This has been going on for 4 1/2 months. New carpet was installed one month prior to symptons. I really think this is the cause. I did not have alergy problems before my new carpet.
Has anyone had a similar situation? I am at a loss as to what to do.
